Belated update!
Nov. 17th, 2010 09:04 amWork ate my face off so I've been neck deep in deadlines; to add insult to injury, LJ was blocked so my RP time has been considerably curtailed. I'm still writing, though. And so, a ridiculous snippet because I love it here.
Jim cackled and leaned across the coffee table between them to tug at the fabric of Bones's pants. "You rolled a critical failure. That means you have to take your pants off."
For a moment, Bones was still, motionless in that thoughtful way he had. Jim held his breath - he might actually have a chance....
"Are you out of your goddamn mind? Let me see the damn rule book." Bones lunged across the table and grabbed at the PADD Jim had tucked down next to his leg. Bones scrambled but Jim clamped the PADD between the chair and his muscular thigh and used his arms to hold Bones back.
"You can't look, I've made notes, that's the GAME MASTER'S PADD." Bones, Jim had to admit, was stronger than he looked. But all of that advanced combat training he'd taken as a Command track student was finally coming in handy (it had proven less effective on his last few away missions, to his painful realization) - he managed to push Bones back enough that there was room to stand, to manuever, to flee - with his PADD in hand. "Seriously, Bones, if you'd just stop rolling like shit, this wouldn't be an issue!"
Bones spared a moment to send a vicious glance at the dice.
